Ada Yereskovska
I’m Ada Yereskovska—though you may know me as Ada Y (pronounced as “Ada Why”).
I was born in Ukraine and found my new home in Edinburgh after Russia’s full-scale invasion forced me to leave everything behind. The transition was challenging, but it ultimately brought me closer to my purpose: creating art that explores the concepts of safety, belonging, and inspiration.
In Ukrainian, “a davay” sounds like “let’s,” which, when spoken, resembles “Ada Y.” It’s a spontaneous invitation—let’s connect, let’s create, let’s discover. My art embodies this spirit: a call to examine what grounds us and where we can find comfort in the midst of life’s upheavals.

When I first arrived in Scotland, I felt lost, but I soon realized that art was my bridge to a new community. In my work, you’ll see traces of the people who made me feel welcome, the places that sparked my imagination, and the universal human longing for a place to call home.
Mission
My mission is to share that feeling of safety through art, to invite you on a reflective journey about where and how we find home in ourselves and in the world. Whether you resonate with the story of forced immigration or simply enjoy exploring different perspectives, I hope my art offers a sense of belonging and sparks a conversation about what truly matters—our shared humanity, resilience, and the creative spark that guides us forward.
